The attraction of toy soldiers goes back more than a hundred years - and they've even been used by real military types (albeit military playing pieces have much less detail).

This is a medium machine gun, crewed by North Vietnamese Army troops. (I have a whole series of Vietnam-era miniatures, owing to a gig I had working on an HBO film about Vietnam. Yes, they shot Vietnam combat scenes in Toronto, folks.)

In this scenario, this NVA crew - controlled by my friend and fellow XFunc'er Jon Kirchmeir - is firing up a hill at a US team manning a 105mm howitzer at an abandoned patrol base. (The game in use is in the vein of Fire Zone, though it is Kevin Davies' gamemastering with his own set of rules.)
